Shipping Tips
Due to the nature of our service we understand that your recordings are very delicate and have a priceless value. If you are uncomfortable with sending your recordings through the mail we have some suggestions about that. Use the instructions here to insure a successful delivery.
- You may not want to package your albums yourself so check with a local shipping outlet and they may be able to package and ship them for you.
- If you do package them yourself you may save that cost.
- Media Mail by USPS is a service that can be less expensive. Always inquire and you may save.
- Insured Mail provides coverage against loss or damage. NO CLAIM Payments are made for sentimental losses or for any expenses incurred as a result of the loss.
- Check what you want us to transfer is included in your shipment. All records, tapes, covers, etc...
- Remove any posters, booklets or unnecessary items that came with the albums/tapes.
- Include a check list in the package so we can verify what you have sent (album titles and quantity).
- Include your name, address and phone number in the check list.
- Include special instructions, recommendations or information you want us to know about.
- For Compilation Discs include a song list with album titles and what order to transfer them.
- Include graphics, photographs or notes about what you want to put on the cover design.
- Include your check or money order for your purchase and place all the accompanying information in an envelope and place it on top of the albums/tapes before you wrap them up.
- Sort the albums or tapes in lots of 10. PLEASE SHIP ONLY TEN (10) ALBUMS/TAPES PER PACKAGE.
- When packing your albums/tapes they should have a good cushion about one (1) inch thick of bubble wrap around them. If there is a chance for the albums to slide around in the box, this may cause damage.
- Do NOT tie them with string or wire. Use bubble wrap around the items enclosing then completely.
- Tape the foam or bubble wrap to itself not the album/tape covers.
- Place the wrapped items into a cardboard box with no freedom to move around. You may have to add small bits of bubble wrap to take up any excess space, but don`t cram to much into the box, the records may warp. Cushion them as evenly as possible to avoid any problems.
- Using packing tape, seal all sides of the box where the flaps meet so it has no chance of opening.
- Clearly address your package and include your return address on the outside label.
- You're ready to go to the post office and send your package(s).
- PURCHASE INSURANCE WHEN SHIPPING YOUR PACKAGE. YOU ESTIMATE THE VALUE.
